What we need:

Greenpeace is looking for someone to join our team as head of our Actions and Mobilisation Unit. Leading our Actions and Mobilisation Unit, you will champion the use of strategic, effective, and innovative actions, including nonviolent direct actions (NVDA), within Greenpeace Aotearoa. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction on the creative use of actions (including direct actions) and mobilisation to win campaigns.


You will oversee the development of actions and mobilisation staff, activist training, and the provision of investigative research and logistical support for the organisation’s activities. You will ensure that the unit is adhering to health and safety protocols, and support the wider organisation in the ongoing development and improvement of health and safety practices.

Job requirements


Is this you?

  • Long-standing experience in planning, designing and coordinating nonviolent direct actions

  • Understands how campaigns are driven and the role of actions in environmental campaigns

  • Experience in managing health and safety, and legal issues relating to direct actions

  • Experience in effectively dealing with confrontational situations

  • At least two years of experience managing teams and individuals

  • Based in Auckland with flexibility to work outside the normal 9-5.

This is a full time permanent role (37.5hrs) based in Tāmaki Makaurau
